Rick Welsh, the President and Inventor of Bench Solution, believed the average household needed a good, solid workbench, but due to space limitations in their garage, they were forced to do without. Many households who made the decision to purchase a workbench ended up sacrificing precious garage space. In some cases, adding a workbench meant that they had to park a vehicle outside simply to free up enough room for it.
That's where the idea for Bench Solution was born. Rick wanted to create a workbench that would allow these households to maximize their workspace without sacrificing floor space. Rick came up with the Bench Solution concept in 2006. To accommodate the needs of space-starved households, he wanted to build a strong and safe workbench that takes no space. And that’s exactly what sets Bench Solution apart from other garage workbenches.
Rick, who has a background as a machinist and engineer, has a pet peeve. He can’t stand things that don’t work flawlessly, and with him, safety is paramount. What drove Rick to perfection on the bench was his goal of creating a product that he was completely confident that no one would get injured as a result of the bench accidently being lowered.
After a few years of fine-tuning to meet the high standards of Rick and the rest of the Bench Solution team, the space-saving workbench was introduced into the marketplace in 2010.
